.com/weather. >>> oakland police will give us new details today about the man arrested for attack an autistic girl. the 16-year-old victim walked away from a group home for the developmentally disabled a week ago. staff members saw her go but federal law says they could not stop her. they followed her but lost her near the fruitvale bart station. two days later she was found on a bus in san francisco. >> the bus driver had noticed that she had been beaten and was concerned about her. he could see that she was bruised and distraught. and so he called 911. >> the suspect is 36 years old. he was arrested yesterday. alameda county prosecutors could file charges against him today. >>> police are looking for a man who robbed a walgreens of a narcotic pain reliever in palo alto. a surveillance camera captured images of the suspect. police say he asked for oxycontin and showed a pharmacist a gun inside the bag. the suspect is a white man in his 20s about 6 feet tall with short cropped hair. he was wearing a white hat with a seattle seahawks logo on it. >>> checking other bay area headlines now on this tuesday, th

this morning following an overnight shooting near lake merritt in oakland. officers found a 50-year-old man shot outside a liquor store on east 18th street just before 10:30 last night. covering the police, it looks like he was an innocent bystander. they found three more victims a few blocks away. one person is in critical condition, at least other listed in serious condition -- three others listed in serious condition. >>> san francisco police are trying to figure out who shot and killed a man in his 20s last night. officers found the man just before 8:00 near grove and buchanan streets. the man had been shot in the stomach and leg. he died at the hospital an hour later. >>> it is 4:36 now. a man accused of kidnapping and sexually assaulting a 16-year- old at risk girl may be in court today. oakland police say 30-year-old gary atkinson facing charges of kidnapping, rape and lewd acts on a child. today's hearing will finalize his legal representation. he may also enter a plea. the victim is a 16-year-old girl and functions like a 7- year-old. >> this is by far one of the most sickening cas

was involved in a slow- speed chase early this morning all the way from san jose to oakland. officers began pursuing that car because it had no headlights. they used a spike strip. the driver was arrested to be charged with recklessly evading police officers. >>> a coast guard investigation into a suspected smuggling off the smash county coastline has turned tragic. a small boat deployed by the coast guard was rammed by a smuggler's vessel before dawn yesterday. the collision threw two coast guard members into the water. one of them was killed. another was injured in the incident. >>> l.a. police say four people have been found shot to death, their bodies face down outside a large home in suburban northridge. the dead were two women in their 20s, a man in his 30s and man in his 40s. it happened early yesterday morning. the home apparently was an unlicensed boardinghouse. detectives are now looking into a motive. >>> one of the safest big cities in america has hit a homicide milestone. san jose on friday reached its 43rd killing of the year when a 17-year-old boy was gunned down in a residen
-morning fire in east oakland is under control again. firefighters just went back to 64th and international boulevard putting out a fire for the second time this morning. they battled the single alarm earlier at 1:30 when flames reignited just minutes ago. firefighters just left the scene, no injuries. the cause of the fire is under investigation. but reports say it may have been caused by some squatters nearby. >>> the same building caught fire back in august. it took firefighters about half hour to put it out then. at the time it was an appliance store. >>> the san francisco gang task force is investigating a shooting in the mission district. a man was wounded about 8:00 last night near 15th and natomas. he is expected to survive. one suspect was seen leaving the scene, no description. police don't have a motive. >>> four pipe bombs in four days in pleasant hill. the latest bomb was found outside the elementary school. somebody found a pipe bomb in the bushes outside the school yesterday. they call the police and the bomb squad took care of it. >> it was lit but didn't detonate. >> we hop
